People always say, “When you know, you know.” For us, it was more like, “When the timing is finally right, you’ll know.” We met while working together as New York City Police officers, and although there was an instant connection, life had other plans. We were the right people at the wrong time—until life gave us a second chance. Our first date was far from romantic: pouring rain, Jenn in Crocs and sweatpants, and the worst pizza we’ve ever had. Jenn drove home convinced she'd never hear from Elvis again, but somehow, between the awkward conversation and terrible pizza, something just felt right.

Our second date at Dave & Buster’s was filled with Jenn losing every game, followed by cookies from our favorite shop—where Jenn finished hers and started eating Elvis's too. Somehow, despite Jenn's questionable fashion choices, cookie stealing, and competitive losses, Elvis still asked Jenn out again. What started with bad pizza, arcade games, and stolen cookies became a love built on laughter, friendship, and always choosing each other. Our story may not be perfect, but it’s perfectly ours, and we can’t wait to keep writing it together.
